“BTS’ Jin is the #1 artist on this week’s Shazam Global Chart, remaining as the FIRST and ONLY Korean solo artist to achieve this milestone! “Jin remains the only Korean soloist to top the weekly Shazam Top Artist Chart as he leads the chart for the 4th consecutive week. With this achievement, he has surpassed BTS’s record on the chart. “Seokjin” is trending worldwide at # 15, while “KIM SEOKJIN” is separately trending under the music category, and “CONGRATULATIONS JIN” trending as well as fans celebrate the achievement.
Jin has co-written and released three solo tracks with BTS: “Awake” in 2016, “Epiphany” in 2018, and “Moon” in 2020, all of which have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. In 2019, Jin Kim released his first independent song, the digital track “Tonight”. He also appeared on the 2016 “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth” soundtrack “It’s Definitely You” alongside V. On December 3, 2020, Jin released his second solo song “Abyss” a day before his 28th birthday.
On October 1, 2021, it was confirmed that Jin would be singing “Yours” the main OST theme song for the tvN drama Jirisan. On December 4, 2021, Jin released the song “Super Tuna”, for free as a gift to fans on his 29th birthday celebrations. “Super Tuna” ranked #1 on YouTube World Popular Music Video for eight consecutive days. A “Super Tuna” TikTok soon started which went viral garnering 141.8 million cumulative views in 10 days.
His other songs, both solo, and collabs with other members include “Adult Child” (2013) he sang with RM and Suga, “Awake” (Christmas ver.) (2016) which was a Holiday (Christmas) remix of “Awake” from the album Wings, “So Far Away” (2017) Re-release of the original track by Suga; features Jin and Jungkook in place of Suran, “Tonight” (이 밤; I bam) (2019) Released as part of the 2019 BTS anniversary event, FESTA.
