BTS’ ‘FAKE LOVE’ Music Video Surpassed 1.1 Billion Views On YouTube

“FAKE LOVE by BTS surpassed 1.1 billion views on April 23. The song was released on May 18, 2018, as the lead single from the band’s “Love Yourself: Tear” (2018). The single now joins “DNA“, “Boy With Luv“, “Dynamite“, “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)”, and, “IDOL” in this acheivement. BTS now becomes the only group in the world to have SIX different music videos on YouTube record this milestone. The music video broke the record for the most-watched music video on YouTube within 24 hours, achieving 35.9 million views on the platform on its first day. Within 8 days, “Fake Love” surpassed 100 million views.

The current record for fastest 100 million views on YouTube is also held by BTS very own music video for ‘Butter’ which achieved this amrk within 21 hours after its release.The Korean version of “Fake Love” debuted at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band’s first top-ten single in the US. It was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), for track equivalent sales of 500,000 units becoming BTS’ third song to do so.
